Social value influences around a third of public sector procurement. Social Enterprise UK says we may have missed £760bn worth of opportunities to create economic, social and environmental value. The average FTSE100 company spends £4bn on procurement every year compared to just £10m on Corporate Social Responsibility. To achieve this ambition we need a new big, bold vision for social value focused on systems-change, transforming public services and creating an environmentally sustainable future. To do this means doubling the pace of social value utilisation in the public sector, and more rapid growth in the private sector.
