Lindsay and her family have been living with her terminal cancer diagnosis for several years. Despite this diagnosis, Lindsay, her family and colleagues have remained focused on having a positive impact, whether at home or at work.

Throughout this period, under Lindsay’s leadership and work ethic, Value Match has grown significantly, enabling more schools to achieve better Value for Money whilst delivering additional apprenticeships and training opportunities and a positive environmental impact. Two years on, Lindsay wanted to combine her passion for public service and her work with schools with a charity that supports young people. As CEO, Lindsay has nominated Teenage Cancer Trust as our corporate charity partner.

Everyone who knows Lindsay also knows she loves a plan and a target, so the aim is to raise £50,000 as quickly as possible. Ambitious? Yes. Doable? Certainly.

Our Fundraising Activity

David Shields will take on the Pyrenees Endurance Cycle Challenge from 30 August to 8 September, completing 15 mountain climbs and over 50,000ft of elevation across eight consecutive days. The ride is a personal commitment inspired by Lindsay’s nomination of Teenage Cancer Trust and reflects the resilience, endurance and determination shown throughout her journey.

Laura Davies is lacing up her running shoes to complete 70 kilometres over six months in support of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Laura’s run reflects the collective effort across Value Match, individual commitment contributing to a shared goal.

Each kilometre completed moves the team closer to its fundraising target.

Matt Wootten (Agilico) is taking on Hadrian’s Wall Path, 135km in just two days! Pushing both endurance and determination to the limit in support of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Shaped by his own experience of cancer touching family and friends, this challenge combines personal meaning with physical grit. With 70km on day one and 65km on day two, the jeopardy is real, but so is the purpose.

Alex is taking on the Manchester Marathon in April 2026, covering 26.2 miles in support of Teenage Cancer Trust. Having previously completed a marathon in Brisbane, Alex signed up again determined to improve on his time and saw this as the right opportunity to combine a personal goal with supporting Lindsay’s nominated charity. Months of early mornings, long training runs and disciplined preparation will all contribute toward the wider £50,000 team target.

George will be riding in the Pyrenees from 30 August 2026, aiming to climb 8 Cols and over 20,000ft of elevation across seven days in support of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Inspired by Lindsay’s nomination of the charity, the challenge reflects determination and resilience while contributing to the wider Value Match fundraising initiative.

Each climb brings the team one step closer to its collective £50,000 fundraising target.

The Value Match inaugural Winter Ball will bring colleagues, partners and supporters together for an evening dedicated to raising funds for Teenage Cancer Trust. The event will combine celebration and fundraising, providing an opportunity for the wider community to contribute to the £50,000 target. The evening will include fundraising activities and opportunities to support the charity through donations and sponsorship. The Winter Ball reflects the collective commitment of our network to support young people facing cancer and to contribute to the important work delivered by Teenage Cancer Trust.

Why is this important to Lindsay and Value Match?

We want to make sure that whatever we do as people and as a company will continue to make a positive contribution now and moving forward. Most Value Match colleagues have a public sector background and with that comes a public service ethos.

We built our organisational values around our beliefs and a focus on public service. Supporting Teenage Cancer Trust continues to build on these values and beliefs, building a positive legacy from adversity.
