The 2025 Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Benchmark Key Findings Report by KnowTheChain evaluates the efforts of 45 of the world’s largest ICT companies to address forced labour risks in their supply chains. Despite the sector’s vital role in global economies and renewable energy advancements, the report reveals a troubling gap between corporate policies and real-world practices, with an average company score of just 20/100. The study highlights ongoing issues such as recruitment fee charging, lack of freedom of association, and insufficient grievance mechanisms, particularly impacting migrant workers in high-risk regions like Taiwan. Only three companies—Samsung, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Cisco—scored above 50. The report calls for more robust due diligence, worker-centric approaches, and meaningful corporate accountability to eradicate forced labour risks across the ICT sector.
