Procurement Policy Note 01/22 applies to all Central Government Departments, their Executive Agencies and Non Departmental Public Bodies. Other public sector contracting authorities should consider applying the approach set out in this PPN.
Decision to terminate a contract should be made on a case by case basis and within existing legal restrictions, financial allocations and budgets.
HM Treasury consent must be obtained for transactions which set precedents, are novel, contentious or could cause repercussions elsewhere in the public sector, in line with Managing Public Money.
