  5. National Audit Office Investigation into Government Procurement during the COVID-19 Pandemic

This investigation sets out the facts relating government procurement during the COVID-19 pandemic covering the period up to 31 July 2020. It is in response to concerns raised about the risks to public money that could arise from greater use of direct awards to suppliers during the pandemic. This National Audit Office report covers procurement by government departments and their arm’s-length bodies but does not cover procurements carried out by NHS trusts, NHS foundation trusts and local authorities on their own behalf. This report does not include an examination of the value for money of the contracts awarded over this period. You can download the summary here.
